Al Duhail ties with Al Sadd 1-1
25th February 2022
The match started with an equal performance from both teams, and it was clear that each team focused on controlling the midfield in order to seize the match.

Al Duhail succeeded in taking advantage of its first real opportunity when the ball reached Edmilson, who got around Al Sadd's penalty area and was fouled. That made the referee use the video referee technology and announce a penalty kick that Edmilson kicked and scored in the far right corner of the Al Sadd goal, which ended the first half of the match.

In the second half, despite Al Duhail's clear advantage, Al Sadd managed to return to the match in the 59th minute through Akram Afif, who came through from the right side and shot directly into the goal. Salah Zakaria tried to keep it away, but the ball went into the net.

Control shifted inside the field to the Al Duhail team thanks to the strong performance of its midfield, which made it take the initiative, and forced Al Sadd to retreat to its defensive areas relying on counter attacks, but our team’s defense was on the lookout for all moves until the referee blew the whistle, announcing the end of the match with a goal for each team.
